Hybrid Cars and What You Should Know

by Mike Roberts

Hybrid cars are considered to be the car of the future. Because of the benefits you will gain, you will definitely want to get one for your own. In fact, more and more people are now considering selling their conventional car and purchase a hybrid car. So, why is it that more and more people would prefer getting a hybrid car instead of a conventional car even if hybrid car retail prices are far more expensive?

The answer is that these people are thinking of the long term benefits that a hybrid car can provide. With a hybrid car, you can cut fuel consumption in half compared to conventional cars. Hybrid cars will be able to give you maximum fuel efficiency. It will be able to give you far better mileage to the gallon. With some hybrid cars, you can get more than 60 miles to the gallon of gasoline.

Hybrid cars run on two engines thus saving gasoline. One is the conventional internal combustion engine that you will find in conventional cars and the other is the electric motor and batteries. Hybrid cars are basically cars that combine electric energy and gasoline energy. By combining these engines to power your car, it will run quieter, cleaner and far more efficient than conventional cars. These are the main advantages of hybrid cars.

Another advantage is that you will be able to save more money from tax breaks imposed by the US government to hybrid car users and buyers. If you own a hybrid car, you will be able to enjoy tax breaks. Also, you will be able to enjoy free parking and other incentives that the government provides to hybrid car owners.

Now that you know about the advantages of the hybrid cars, you should also know what some consider to be disadvantages of hybrid cars are.

People have been purchasing hybrid cars because of the ability of saving a lot of money from fuel consumption. However, the main advantage of hybrid cars, which is the electric motor, is also its downfall. When a hybrid car is involved in an accident it will be difficult for you and the rescuers to get you out of the car because of the dangers of electrocution. Hybrid cars carry large amounts of voltage. When it gets involved in an accident, wires from the battery may tear off and will be potentially dangerous to handle.

Another disadvantage is that the retail price can be much higher than conventional cars in the same weight class. However, the hybrid car can counter this disadvantage by providing consumers fuel savings in a long term basis. When you look at it in a long term basis, hybrid cars tend to be cheaper than conventional cars.

Try to estimate the amount of gasoline both cars will consume during its lifetime and add it to the retail price of the car. You will see that the conventional car will tend to be more expensive than hybrid cars when you look at it on a long term basis.

These are the pros and cons of hybrid cars. You can see that it contains more advantages than disadvantages. Most hybrid cars today are now integrated with the latest technology in car safety. So, if you are planning to purchase a car, think hybrid.

Run Car on Water – Hydrogen Fuel Technology

by Alan Chan

Are you a car owner like me that suffer from the rising cost fuel? As the financial analyst, the gas prices are approaching $4 in the near future and this high fuel cost is hurting every car owners. Is there a cheaper, cleaner way to power your car?

As more and more drivers like you and I are searching for alternatives to gasoline; one of the most discussed alternatives is the use of hydrogen fuel technology to replace traditional gas to run car on water.

Hydrogen fuel technology is a method of converting water into energy for your car to allow you to run your car on water! Hydrogen may be used in an internal combustion engine configured to run on liquid hydrogen though most of the talk is about using hydrogen in fuel cells to generate electricity. That electricity, in turn, drives the electric motors that propel the car. The main source for hydrogen is water, hence, to obtain hydrogen from water requires splitting the molecule apart via electrolysis.

If you convert your car to run on water with hydrogen fuel technology, you may save up to 50% of your fuel cost. At the same time, hydrogen cars offer the promise of zero emission technology than conventional gasoline powered cars.

Want to run your car on water with the hydrogen fuel technology? You can either get a ready-made market kit at approximate $1,000 or you can do it yourself to modify your car to allow it to split water molecules. The installation of the “Water Powered Car” Kit device is safe and proven and you can remove it anytime within seconds. Motorcycle Helmets – Shoei Helmets Combine Style

by John Daniele

Motorcycle riders looking for a high-tech, high end helmet would do well to consider Shoei Helmets. Made and distributed by the Shoei Company, a Japanese firm, these helmets are both rugged and good-looking. Not only that, but newer models are usable in different settings. For instance, the Shoei Helmets line’s recent addition, the new Hornet-DS, can be configured by each rider, making it usable for both on-road riding and off-road riding depending on the owner’s needs and desires.

Shoei helmets are noteworthy as objects of industrial design, that is, these helmets not only perform the functions of providing protection for the rider’s head while providing adequate ventilation, they are also strikingly beautiful. Once again, the Shoei helmet, the Hornet-DS, is noteworthy. There is something rakishly elegant about the aerodynamic design of this helmet. When looking at this particular Shoei helmet, one is tempted to think that it has been purpose-built for looks rather than function. It projects forward from the cranium and terminates in a nose-piece in a way that would seem to make it suitable to be a Star Wars prop. However, this Shoei helmet looks the way it looks because it is scientifically designed to: 1] maximize protection of the head; and 2] provide optimal air flow in the service of the functional purposes of keeping the face and head cool and dry.

Regarding the toughness of the helmet, the earlier models of the modern Shoei helmets were introduced for use in the construction industry in Japan; the first motorcycle specific helmet being made in 1960. This helmet met the Japanese industrial criteria for robustness. The later versions of the Shoei helmets gave primary importance to the durability and crash resistance while designing the helmets. A sizeable majority of the company’s helmets met the standards of Snell Memorial Foundation’s M2005 rating. The Snell Memorial Foundation’s rating system has often been criticized for its strict rules regarding safety benchmarks. The models of the helmets that have received the Snell Memorial Foundation’s M2005 rating can be fairly judged to be the most reliable motorcycle helmets in the world. One key point to be mentioned is that the GRV helmet from Shoei was the helmet in which latest technologies such as carbon technology and Kevlar were first introduced.

Various versions of the Shoei helmet have won numerous industrial design awards as well as safety awards. The Honda Motor Company linked the Shoei helmet to its motorcycle product line in 1965 and this helped to stimulate sales.

Despite being a well-known and sought after brand internationally, Shoei Helmets are all still manufactured in Japan. The Shoei company takes great pride in keeping their entire manufacturing operation under close supervision in their Iwate, Japan plant, where all products are make. It is no wonder that Shoei Helmets are prized not only in Japan but in the United States and other countries as high quality and desirable helmets for all kinds of motorcycle riding.
